Our Town

Grand Rapids is one of the finest Ohio Villages – nestled along the southern bank of the Maumee River, just southwest of Toledo. Visitors to Grand Rapids come for the quaint atmosphere and enjoy the restored canal town. Shopping is also a huge draw, as Grand Rapids offers everything from antiques, to gifts, to one-of-a-kind collectibles. Our Apple Butter Festival in early October is also a fun way to celebrate our history.

Many also enjoy our downtown buildings, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You can eat, drink, and be merry in a restored Victorian restaurant, visit a water and steam powered mill, or even ride the canal boat pulled by mules down the Miami & Erie Canal. Afterward, you could  picnic on the towpath. As Ohio villages go, Grand Rapids is the best!
